About Fog og Mørup
The journey of Fog og Mørup began in 1904 with a modest wholesale business in three small rooms and a basement in Aarhus. A quarter-century later, this company had grown into one of Denmark’s leading lamp manufacturers. In 1906, Ansgar Fog and Erik Mørup made a remarkable move by taking over a company in Copenhagen specializing in lighting articles for gas and oil. They carefully packed up the entire wholesale warehouse in Aarhus and transported it to Copenhagen by train. They even took their only employee, the young Jørgen, on this adventurous journey. However, Jørgen eventually chose a different path. One morning, they found a note. He had gone back home to Aarhus, “because he couldn’t bear the longing.”
The trade in lighting articles flourished, and the company grew steadily. In 1915, Fog and Mørup decided to establish three modest workshops dedicated to the production of chandeliers. These workshops marked the early beginnings of their lamp production.
