A well-known myth is that the multi-layer pendant lights commonly known as Carl Thore lamps were produced by Fog & Mørup. The designer’s real name was Sigurd Lindkvist. Lindkvist adopted a pseudonym for his Granhaga lighting designs on a whim. When he presented the lamps to a customer who asked the identity of the designer. “Carl Thore,” Lindkvist blurted out, these are two middle names. The most popular pendants designs by Lindkvist for Granhaga Metallindustri are the Trava lights. The Trava pendants are made of aluminum and produced in different variations.

Carl Thore’s pendants are quite fragile. The pendants are made of aluminum and this material is sensitive to bending. The paint is often no longer in new condition with these lights. When produced in the 1960s, the paint was applied relatively thinly compared to our other brands. This makes the lights more sensitive to paint damage. Therefore, take a good look at the photos and the advertising text of our Granhaga pendants.
