Nordisk Solar Søvaernspendel by Jørn Utzon
This beautiful pendant light was designed for the Nordisk Solar brand and released under the Søvaernspendel type. This playful design was designed by Jørn Utzon. The luminaire mainly casts the soft light downwards through the conical reflector on the inside. The reflector on the outside, the main shade, helps to direct the light up and down, while at the same time spreading a soft, diffused light. The inside of the main shield is illuminated through an opening in the smaller, conical reflector.
Condition
This light is about 50 years old and in good condition with signs of previous use. For example, the large bowl is slightly bent and has spots. A detail photo is attached.

About Nordisk Solar
Nordisk Solar has been producing lights since the 1930s. Harald and Audiola Jørgensen play an important role in Nordisk Solar Company’s many years of lamp production. Harald Jørgensen advocated for Nordisk Solar Compagni to create a coveted lamp program in collaboration with renowned architects and designers. In an attempt to do so, he ordered the later popular Tivoli in 1949. View our complete collection of Nordisk Solar lights here.
