Our story began in 2017, during a trip to Denmark. What started as a search for unique vintage finds quickly grew into a lasting fascination. The calm, simplicity, and functionality of Scandinavian design made an immediate impression. These are designs that do not demand attention, but instead bring atmosphere and warmth into a space. Back in the Netherlands, that feeling stayed with us \u2013 and grew into what Scandinavian Lamps is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the years that followed, we deepened our knowledge of Scandinavian lighting. We travelled more frequently to Denmark and other Scandinavian countries, built a strong network, and learned the stories behind the lamps and their designers. What drives us is finding lighting with character \u2013 pieces that not only illuminate a space, but truly add something to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2020, we translated this passion into our webshop, with a clear focus: offering unique, authentic Scandinavian lamps of the highest quality. Today, we have one of the largest collections of vintage Scandinavian lighting in the Netherlands, with hundreds of lamps in stock \u2013 each one personally selected by us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Every two months, we still travel to Scandinavia. We visit companies, storage places, and often private homes. It is there that we find the most exceptional pieces. No mass production, but lamps with a history. That makes every find unique \u2013 and you can feel it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before a lamp becomes part of our collection, it passes through our hands. We dismantle and inspect almost every piece and fully renew the electrical components, ensuring each lamp is safe and ready to use immediately. Where needed, we professionally powder-coat lamps in carefully selected modern colours. This way, we combine the character of vintage design with the quality and reliability of today. Transparency is important to us: what you see is what you get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, we opened our first physical store in Alphen aan den Rijn. Since early 2026, we have been located in the De Aarhof shopping centre in Alphen aan den Rijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our store is centrally located within the shopping centre and easily accessible, with parking nearby. Here you can experience our full collection in person and feel the atmosphere of our lighting firsthand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
With the opening of our new store, we took a deliberate step forward. As the only specialised lighting store in the area, we aim to serve a broad range of customers. That is why we have expanded our assortment with new lighting. Alongside our vintage collection, you will now also find a carefully selected range of modern floor lamps, table lamps, ceiling lights, and spotlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, we can order new lighting from various premium brands, allowing us to offer suitable solutions for almost any taste or interior style. Whether you are looking for a unique vintage piece or modern functional lighting, we are happy to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a family business, we value personal contact. We advise, think along with you, and actively help find lighting that truly fits your interior or project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have now served customers in more than 20 countries and regularly work on projects in hospitality, retail, and museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What has remained unchanged over the years is our passion for Scandinavian design. We continue to search, discover, and curate \u2013 always with an eye for quality, character, and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
