Design Mandalay
This pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen bears the name Mandalay. It is a design by Andreas Hansen and the lamp was produced from 1973 to 1984. The inside of the chrome rim is white in color. This provides a soft light.
Andreas Hansen
Andreas Hansen was educated at the Kunsthåndværkerskolen (the School of Arts and Crafts) and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ School of Furniture Design. He has had his own design studio since 1963, where he designs furniture, lamps and home furnishings, mainly for companies in Denmark. Andreas Hansen is also known for the lamps he designed for Le Klint.

Louis Poulsen’s goal is not just to design lamps. By shaping light from a lamp, Louis Poulsen wants to create an atmosphere in which people feel good, both inside and outside. The shape of the light creates space and the products should live harmoniously in the space they define – indirect, soft and inviting.
