Originally this lamp was brass in color. Because the paint was in poor condition, we had the shells of this lamp re-powder coated by a specialized company. The lamp is therefore in excellent condition and the salmon pink color makes it perfectly suitable for a modern interior.
Designer Carl Thore
The real name of the designer known as Carl Thore was Sigurd Lindkvist, and he was born in 1916 in Amal in Dalsland, Sweden. After working for a lighting company called Luko, Lindkvist joined Granhaga Metallindustri in 1961, for whom he designed lamps and was also head of sales, and stayed with the company until he retired around 1981. Lindkvist took the pseudonym Carl Thore for his Granhaga lighting designs on a whim when he presented the lamps to a client who asked for the designer’s identity. “Carl Thore,” Lindkvist blurted out, these were his two middle names. The base of this luminaire is designed on a reflective multi-shade system. This way the light is divided over 2 discs. This allows the light to shine both upwards and downwards.

This hanging lamp is about 50 years old. The lamp is powder coated and therefore in good condition. However, some scales are slightly bent. The electricity has also been renewed.
