Louis Poulsen ontwerpt zijn armaturen met één het doel: het licht te vormen. Ze produceren zowel binnen als buitenverlichting. De lampen creëren en vormen het licht waardoor het merk bekent staat om zijn bijzondere armaturen. De wijze waarop een lamp het licht vormt bepaalt de sfeer in een ruimte. De armaturen gaan in harmonieuze wijze op in de ruimte en creëren een zacht en indirect licht voor een uitnodigend gevoel.
Poul Henningsen
De enorm invloedrijke en moedige ontwerper, architect, auteur en cultuurcriticus Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) heeft zijn stempel gedrukt op veel gebieden binnen het Deense denken en design, en de erfenis van hem is een integraal onderdeel van Louis Poulsen’s werk om licht vorm te geven. Het uitgangspunt voor de manier waarop we ons ontwerp en licht vormgeven, is terug te voeren op het systeem met drie schermen van Poul Henningsen uit 1926, dat hij uitvond om de onaangename schittering te verminderen en het licht in zijn lampen te verbeteren.
